Bumpity Bump!

Update on how the baby is growing! I have overall been doing well...it has almost gotten to where it is now difficult to bend over and it feels like I have so much pressure under my rib cage where it is just uncomfortable! Blah! 19 more weeks to go...seems like forever!

Finally at the halfway point! Baby is the size of a small cantaloupe!
19 week picture...baby was the size of an heirloom tomato. This is when we had the anatomy scan and she is measuring right on target!
18 weeks! Baby was the size of a sweet potato! This was the week that I kinda popped! Bob was out of town this weekend and when he got home Sunday he was shocked at how big the baby was at this point!
Week 17 baby was the size of an onion!
Seems like baby is starting to really grow fast! Glad to have the good report that everything is perfect so far with both of us! So ready for January to get here!

Baby update!

Have been so busy the last few weeks, I haven't got a chance to update the blog! So, I thought I would at least add the important things! Went to the doc on Wednesday to see our sweet little baby...it was so exciting!! It was amazing the things we got to see on this little machine! She checked the heart, lungs, brain, GI tract, blood flow, everything was perfect! Even those three little lines we got a peek of between our little GIRLS legs!! :) It was so sweet...she just just twisting and turning in there and I didn't feel a thing! Her little heart beat was 147 and she was weighing in at 11 oz and about 12 cm long. She was just adorable!

Sweet baby foot!
Seemed like her feet and hands were up around her head almost the whole time
Think I can catch a smile in this one...attempt at the 3D of the face. Again, wouldn't move her hands and feet!
Crossing her arms
Didn't get any pics on the CD of the little girl parts but its for sure! Bob keeps saying "but what if it comes out a boy?"... wishful thinking on his part! LOL! I think I have another ultrasound in a couple months so I am sure they will double check it then. The doctor said I have an anterior (front) placenta which means that the placenta is lying low on the cervix which means it could cause bleeding but normally it will correct itself before delivery and it will be nothing to worry about. This is also why I can't really feel baby and why I can't feel her at all from the outside. I was shocked when she was moving the ultrasound machine at the top of my stomach and getting great pics...I can feel the baby way down in my pelvis only so it was really weird but apparently that is where the placenta is which is why I cannot feel it up higher....hoping that thing moves out of the way soon because I am ready for daddy to feel her too! We are so blessed...cannot wait for January to get here!
Leaving for Branson tomorrow and I will update all the fun things we have been up to, including belly pics, when we get back!

Bob turns 30!

Bob decided the only thing he wanted for his birthday this year was to hang out and drink beer with his buddies...Since I, of course, cannot drink beer with his buddies.... I wasn't really looking forward to going out to the bar til wee hours of the morning so I decided to throw a party at the house! I thought it would be a pretty good 30th birthday! So I cooked some good food, bought a cute cake and of course had decorations!

I thought I got Bob a pretty good gift, as we all know, he is impossible to buy for! I got him Baggo because he always talks about how he had one and he let some guy borrow it and never saw it again! But, being the little sneak he is, guessed what he was getting! Grrr! His parents did get him 2 months worth of yard service which he said was the best gift ever...maybe he can help me out more with the house work....hmmm....
He did somehow talk me into indoor Baggo for his party....

I think everyone had a pretty good time...even Gracie! For some reason, everyone wanted to pick her up and she hates being held...lol!

Rob thought it was funny that I was eating the "ass of the Hog"...

Happy 30th Bobby! I love you!

Update on the Pea Pod: Doctors appointment last week went well, have a neurologist appointment scheduled in a couple of week for the headaches but they seem to actually be getting better so I may skip it! Next appointment: August 29th @ 9:45am where we get to find out the gender! Yay! Counting down the days!
Up to week 16 where baby is the size of an avocado!

Busy weeks!

Seems like we have been pretty busy lately! We started out a couple of weeks ago cleaning out the nursery to be! If you have been to our house, ever, you should know that Bob's office consist of a huge room that is filled of boxes, liquor, signs, etc. (I just call it junk)... so much so that I didn't even remember what the carpet looked like in there! You couldn't make it to the desk if you wanted to! So we decided to change the "office" into a nursery since it is closer to our room and move all of Bob's stuff into a walk in closet...he wasn't to excited but he did a great job and it is starting to look great!

This pic was actually before the final sweep but it looks a ton better than it did! All of this stuff in this pic is currently gone! Yay!
I also, finally, got my hair colored! I was not loving the awesome skunk stripe I was sporting! The doc said it was fine so I waited at least til the second trimester to do it! Bob loves it! Hoping it will be a little less maintenance than the blonde!

We also had some super sweet house guest for a few days! Our friend from college, Jaime and her adorable two girls and her mom came to stay with us a few nights! It was during the week so I felt like a horrible hostess seeing that I had to work the whole time they were here! The girls, Zoey (3) and Kenzee (1) were so much fun! They loved playing with Gracie and loved reading books and playing the iPad games! And Zoey even helped me with laundry!

Gotta love Kenzee's cute curls!
And Zoey's smile was too cute! She hated having her pic taken!
This was pea pods first gift that are Zoey and Kenzee's favorite two books! They are so cute and I cannot wait to read them to our little one!
I also went shopping with Grandma this past weekend for maternity clothes! Bob said it didn't matter what I tried on, that is how pregnant I looked in them! They were all super cute! She also insisted on being the one to buy the first baby outfit! It took me forever to convince her we had to buy something gender neutral as not to jinx it! It was actually really hard to find!

How could you not love these cute little duck feet!
In my photo journey, I missed week 14 where baby was the size of a lemon. We were so busy that week and I have been having the worst migraines which basically makes me want to do nothing!
So week 15, baby is the size of an orange! :)

Have been doing pretty well, outside of the migraines! Go back to the doctor on Wednesday where I thought I would get to see the pea pod but apparently not so one more month and we should know what color to paint that nursery!

Are we there yet??

I know it has been a minute since I have updated on the status of the pea pod but it has really been an uneventful first trimester... thats right, I said first trimester because today marks the first day of the second trimester and I could not be more excited, gives a little peace of mind that we will be meeting that little one in January! We have been trying to update weekly pics to see how much the baby is growing but there really has not been much change! This is today, the start of week 13...

Baby is the size of a peach and Bob had me pose with a peach we picked up from the farmers market yesterday...this is kind of a small peach but you get the idea! After we took a 3 hour nap after church, I actually had a little energy and cleaned out the fridge and the pantry, cooked dinner and cleaned the kitchen and even did some laundry! Yay! Hoping that last because I have a ton to do around this house in the next couple of weeks!

Then there is week 12, which I did not have an official picture but this was our Facebook post picture and it was at week 12. I posted "What happens in Mexico doesn't always stay in Mexico"... I thought it was super cute idea! Baby was officially the size of a plum at this point!

Week 11, again looking a lot like Week 13 I think! Ha! Baby was the size of a lime and I thought it was only appropriate to draw a margarita since I cannot have one for another 6 months or more! I have heard lime slushes are very similar so I may have to check one out soon! :)

I started the photo journey at week 10 where baby was the size of a prune!

I am hoping the next trimester goes as well as this one! No morning sickness, no over moodiness, no food aversion or cravings for that matter...just hanging out with the pea pod! We go back to the doctor on August 1st to peek at the pea pod to make sure it has all of its arms and legs and stuff and we may be able to sneak a peek to see what it might be! :) Also bought my first pair of maternity pants this week...while the dress pants are still fitting fine, the jeans are a little snug and I felt like the button might pop off so I thought it was about time! Overall doing well, cannot wait to share our next picture of the little one!

Baby's first picture!

We had our first ultrasound today with the doctor to see when we were really expecting our little pea pod to arrive. It was a very fast and simple visit but we were so glad to see our little one was doing good so far! Bob was amused at the little pedals next to the ultrasound table that had up, down, left, right on them and he was dying to push them! Don't worry, I didn't let him! LOL! When the doctor arrived she got right down to business, had no problem finding our little one and we got to hear the heart beat which was beating at a great pace of 150! Seems that we are not as far along as expected and the new due date is January 20th which means I am only about 7 1/2 weeks now... so long until January! But at least it won't be too close to Christmas and Bob was just relieved it wasn't twins! So, now for the drum roll....

Isn't it cute! ha! I had to explain it to Bob after the doctor left the room because apparently he wasn't paying attention! The little white bump in the right corner is our pea pod! It was so neat that even though we couldn't really see anything, you could see the heart beating out of it's chest! We loved it! So glad everything is going so well! Baby's first picture now has it's official spot on the fridge!

Chris Castleberry Golf Classic!

We had such a fun weekend this past weekend reuniting with some old friends! We headed to Arkadelphia for the 2nd annual Chris Castleberry Golf Classic in memory of our friend and Bob's fraternity brother! I was not real sure if I wanted to go but I am glad I did! I also went to high school with Chris so I got to catch up with some people I have not seen in years! I definitely got to hang with the best group of the bunch! They may not have won but they had a great time! There were a total of 20 teams and did I mention there was free beer?!

All lined up!

The gang! Bob, Jeff, Rob, and Corey

The guys posing with Brooke in front of her sponsor sign!
The were supposed to be looking like they were riding! lol
Cheering squad!
Jeff doing Happy Gilmore...
Posing in front of the Phi Lamb little sis sign!
In the end, Bob and Jeff scored a 92 and Rob and Corey for an 86. The winners got a 61! And the losing team got a 94... two points away and we could have got a prize for the worst score! Ha! It was a great time getting to see everyone and remembering Chris!
