Picture TIme!!

We had a fun filled day of pictures today!! We had scheduled our 4D ultrasound to see Dylan up close and personal and also our maternity pics! The ultrasound was fun, it is amazing how close up you can get to her and see everything that is happening! Apparently we waited a little too long, they like for you to do it before 32 weeks, so she was a little cramped in there and did not have much room for wiggle! We had a talk this morning that she would be awake and she would smile and not have her hands in front of her face during the pictures as she has had in past ones! Well I ate a little breakfast before I went and drank plenty of water thinking that would help and sure enough...hand in her face! It was like she was sucking on her hand the whole time we were looking at her! And her cord was in front of her face so it kinda makes her look a little squished in there! So this is what we got....

this one is my favorite...you can actually see all of her features and her hand is not in her mouth!
This one, she is super pissed off because she is tired of all the shaking and pictures!
She looks like she has a pointed chin here but they do this cool thing where they crop out stuff and I think we got a little too much!
Sucking on her hand (of course)
this one she looks like she is propping herself up!
She kinda looks like a gopher here with those cheeks puffed out!
I think they were overall okay, we got a DVD, flash drive, prints of the pictures and a little heart with her heart beat recorded in it! It is so sweet!
After that we went to downtown Rogers to do our maternity pics...cannot wait until she gets them ready....I think they are going to turn out great!

Bumping along...

We made it through another month...the reflux is killing me!! The nursery is almost finished and we are definitely ready for Dylan to be here! Only 7 more weeks....

32 weeks...no I have no clue what jicama is...
31 weeks, 4 oranges...we compared this one to one a few weeks ago with the same shirt...wow!
30 weeks...cabbage!
Things are going okay...pretty sure this is the worse trimester for me! On top of the reflux, I have a terrible cough that goes on all night long (Bob loves it), I also keep getting a rash which I discovered today may be caused by nuts?? I only think that because I ate a handful of nuts and went to the store and by the time I got there I was covered in hives! Super weird! Also with all the coughing, I have pulled a muscle in the belly making it very painful to move...I cannot wait for her to get here already! I finally got discharged from physical therapy! Next doc appointment on Tuesday and thinking I may start going weekly after the next one but not sure! So close!

DCNA Christmas party

So I decided to drag Bob to the work Christmas party this year. The party was to be from 6-9:30pm on Saturday and of course being the punctual people that we are, we got there about 5 minutes early and were the only people there besides two of the people that were actually putting it together. Everyone said that they all get there fashionably late...I didn't know fashionably late was an hour! At least there was an open bar for Bob and food for me! It was okay, I think, all of the drunk people sat at our table and ran off the other people sitting at our table initially... Just a few pics...

This is before we left, I had to show off!!
Cutest couple at the party!
Lisa with her date.
Jackie, Jim and Bonnie
These are all the pics I took, basically just the people at our table...not much worth taking a picture of!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. Bob had to work all day (of course) so it was just me and Gracie hanging out watching the parade all morning since we couldn't go down to central Arkansas to visit the family. Mom and dad came into town Thursday afternoon and stayed the weekend. Bob's parents and his sister Angela also came on Saturday and we decided to celebrate then. This was the first time I have ever made Thanksgiving dinner so I was very glad to have mom here to help...not that either of us knew too much about cooking turkey. Grandma made the trip to Texas early this year so she wasn't here to cook us up good stuff. After two whole days of cooking, we realized why we only do this once a year (we only had to call grandma about 17 times to ask her questions)! It was very fun trying to work with our frozen turkey (that had been thawing for 4 days) and finish things in time for dinner...luckily we ate a little late! So, for whatever reason I did not take pictures of our dinner but me and Bob had our Christmas card photo shoot which was eventful...
Here are just a few...

Not bad but Gracie wouldn't get in the picture...
We both look constipated here...
Me laughing at trying to get Gracie to mind...Bob being aggravated!
Gracie sniffing my butt...
This was the winner even though I look like a cow and Bob thinks he looks gay!
It was very eventful needless to say!
I am hoping our professional shoot goes better next weekend!
Overall it was a great Thanksgiving even though we were missing several key players!

Baby Shower #2

This past weekend we had our second baby shower for Bob's family and friends at his mom's house! There were so many people there and of course none of them RSVP so we were shocked at the turn out! We got so many gifts that we had to leave some there for mom and dad to bring up at Thanksgiving! It was a fun day!

This is not even half the gifts showing in this pic!
Cute cupcakes!
Me with my mother in law and great host, Debbie, and Dylan!
This is just one of the few pics I was smiling in! Ha! I think I was tired of opening so many gifts!
It was a great day and I cannot wait to finish getting her nursery ready!
Also an update on how big she is getting...seems like she is doubling in size by the day sometimes!
She has been kicking the heck out of me today,  she even had a rhythm beat going at one time!

And 29 weeks is butternut squash....overall just a big girl in there!

28 weeks, cabbage and also where we are measuring about 10 days ahead

27 weeks at a cauliflower!
26 weeks was supposed to be chinese cucumber but I didn't know what that was so went with "big"
10 more weeks to go.... got the get pre registered at the hospital today which seems to make it very real...right around the corner....

Baby's Growing...

Forgot to update this week...we had our 28 week appointment on Wednesday! It was the longest appointment in the history of time! I had to drink the yummy Glucola drink...mine was lemon lime and it was by far the sweetest thing I have ever drank! I was surprised Dylan wasn't bouncing off the walls in there but she did not seem to mind! We then had an ultrasound where daddy got to make sure she was still a girl and didn't grow boy parts in the past two months...she is! Great news that my placenta has moved back to where it is supposed to be and there should be no complications in that area! That little stinker hates having her picture taken and refused to show her face so no good pictures at this one! Boo! At my appointment I was 27 weeks 3 days and she was measuring at 28 weeks 6 days at a whopping 2 lbs 9 oz already! Daddy keeps calling her "haus baby"... I told him that is giving her a complex! So I am hoping for future reference that we don't get too many more newborn items...don't think they will fit past the first week if that long! Her heart rate was doing good at 141. Momma also checked out good and my blood pressure was 110/70 and I only gained 3 lbs! Yay!
I cannot believe we only have 12 more weeks to go...
We got her nursery furniture last week and daddy got it all put together! I got all of her little clothes washed and put in her drawers! It's coming together but still feels like I have a million things to do!
We have our second shower this weekend...hoping we get some good things! Update and picture to follow!

Bump up the Jam...

A little update on how big Dylan is getting!
Not sure what happened at week 21 but I don't have a picture for that one!
Week 22 she was the size of spaghetti squash! Getting bigger everyday!

Week 23 she is the size of a mango and also the week she decided she needed to dislocate my hip! I was in so much pain for about a week! It hurt to sit, stand, walk, lay down, pee... I was in tears most days! Of course the doc was no help just referred me to physical therapy...in two weeks! I decided to get a therapeutic massage which hurt like hell but actually worked wonders! I was like a new person in two days after that!

Week 24 she was the size of corn!

Now down to 25 week which means only 15 weeks more to go! She is the size of a rutabaga which we have no idea what that is (apparently some sort of turnip??) and it is also 13.5 inches to knock out confusion! Bob also must have been drunk when he took this because it is super blurry! Started physical therapy this week and while I was feeling much better, I think she just made it hurt again! Hoping it will be worth it in the long run and I won't revert back to the pain!
Oh this is also the week that Bob and mom finally got to feel Dylan kick from the outside! Still kinda weak from the outside but she sometimes flips like crazy! Going back in two weeks to make sure the placenta has moved out of the front and back where it is supposed to go! We are on the downward slide....

Baby Shower #1

So busy around the Brooks house lately! Seems we are always on the go! So excited we got to spend this past weekend getting ready for baby Dylan! Aunt Phyllis was so nice to throw me a shower at her house and it was so nice! I offered to make the invitations since it was kinda short notice and I had to send them all over the globe!

Sneak Peek!
I am also lucky to have great friends! My friend Jaime and her mom Nickie agreed to make the cake...for free! I was so excited! And it turned out great!

I was so excited about everyone that showed up despite the rain that day! Some people I have not seen in a while so that was fun as well! Just a few pics to see all the stuff Dylan racked up!
Beware: Lots of PINK ahead!
Pink Party!
Me, Nana, and baby Dylan!
Me with Jaime and our girls!
Super cute gift that was made around the invitation! So cute and full of tons of cute stuff!
Me, Mimi and baby Dylan!
Me with Aunt Phyllis, our fabulous host!

Rocking the bump!
Diaper cake!
Hit of the party! Super cute outfit great grandma got her!
It was so much fun and I am pretty sure that Dylan has enough clothes for the entire first year! Things are coming together pretty great in preparation!

What's New??

I am not sure what is new...not with us anyway... I am still big and pregnant and my due date is still 4 months away! AHHHH! But I can tell you whats old....
I have not been on top of things lately for some reason...it really only takes about 10 minutes to update this thing after the pics are loaded to the computer...they have been loaded for well over a week! LOL!

Branson...
After we found out we were having a little girl, we went to Branson for 5 days just to hang out, kinda our farewell trip before we are parents... It was cheap and close to home!
It was actually quite fun despite the rain! We went the week of labor day (I didn't realize it when I booked it) and apparently Branson closes down that week because every show we wanted to see was not showing that week! But thought I would share a few things...

We went to Ripley's Believe it or not and it was super cool!

This ship was made entirely of toothpicks!
The worlds tallest man at 8' 11"!!
This ship was carved entirely from Jade!
The worlds biggest ball of string!
We also got to go to the Price is Right! Yes, you read correctly! They have the Price is Right in Branson and it was awesome! We got our little name tags and anticipated the show! We did not get our name called but it was still super fun! They called four different people for each round, then there were three different people that got to spin the wheel and then there was the showcase showdown where there were two totally different people that got to bid on the same showcase...they both went over and neither won! The most anyone won for the night was $500 cash which was awesome! They had plinko, hole in one, punch game, cliffhanger, etc. It was neat...I recommend it!

Before we went in, no photography inside!
Bob's mom went with us and she won a drawing where she got to have her pic taken and got to spin the wheel for fun!
We got to eat at Joe's Crab Shack...it was crab cracking good!!

We were the King and Queen of Crabs!
They had a car show at the mall and this was the only one they had on display that was really worth looking at it was a 1952 (I think) Studabaker...super cool!

Branson trip was nice and relaxing for us...it was nice to get Bob away from work for a few days even though it still stressed him out with phone calls but at least he was with me! :)

Razorbacks....

Football season is in full swing here in Hog country and it has been pretty uneventful! We are going on our 4th week and are already 1-2 for the season...
The first game we went to a tailgate at some friends to hang out and I took some fun pics!
This is the Hughes' house mascot Sooie! Sooie is a super cute boxer...

Sooie really likes beer...they said she will drink it constantly...please do not try this at home!

Pic of Meghan, Brooke, Me and baby and Rob photo bombing in the back!

This is Rob being super sad that we were sucking so bad at the beginning of the game

We have had no Razorback fun since then because we haven't done much to celebrate for so far this season...hoping it picks up!

Baby update...finally ordered her furniture and bedding! Will be so glad to get it and start putting her room together! Next appt is next week for a checkup!
