Busy weeks!

Seems like we have been pretty busy lately! We started out a couple of weeks ago cleaning out the nursery to be! If you have been to our house, ever, you should know that Bob's office consist of a huge room that is filled of boxes, liquor, signs, etc. (I just call it junk)... so much so that I didn't even remember what the carpet looked like in there! You couldn't make it to the desk if you wanted to! So we decided to change the "office" into a nursery since it is closer to our room and move all of Bob's stuff into a walk in closet...he wasn't to excited but he did a great job and it is starting to look great!

This pic was actually before the final sweep but it looks a ton better than it did! All of this stuff in this pic is currently gone! Yay!
I also, finally, got my hair colored! I was not loving the awesome skunk stripe I was sporting! The doc said it was fine so I waited at least til the second trimester to do it! Bob loves it! Hoping it will be a little less maintenance than the blonde!

We also had some super sweet house guest for a few days! Our friend from college, Jaime and her adorable two girls and her mom came to stay with us a few nights! It was during the week so I felt like a horrible hostess seeing that I had to work the whole time they were here! The girls, Zoey (3) and Kenzee (1) were so much fun! They loved playing with Gracie and loved reading books and playing the iPad games! And Zoey even helped me with laundry!

Gotta love Kenzee's cute curls!
And Zoey's smile was too cute! She hated having her pic taken!
This was pea pods first gift that are Zoey and Kenzee's favorite two books! They are so cute and I cannot wait to read them to our little one!
I also went shopping with Grandma this past weekend for maternity clothes! Bob said it didn't matter what I tried on, that is how pregnant I looked in them! They were all super cute! She also insisted on being the one to buy the first baby outfit! It took me forever to convince her we had to buy something gender neutral as not to jinx it! It was actually really hard to find!

How could you not love these cute little duck feet!
In my photo journey, I missed week 14 where baby was the size of a lemon. We were so busy that week and I have been having the worst migraines which basically makes me want to do nothing!
So week 15, baby is the size of an orange! :)

Have been doing pretty well, outside of the migraines! Go back to the doctor on Wednesday where I thought I would get to see the pea pod but apparently not so one more month and we should know what color to paint that nursery!

Are we there yet??

I know it has been a minute since I have updated on the status of the pea pod but it has really been an uneventful first trimester... thats right, I said first trimester because today marks the first day of the second trimester and I could not be more excited, gives a little peace of mind that we will be meeting that little one in January! We have been trying to update weekly pics to see how much the baby is growing but there really has not been much change! This is today, the start of week 13...

Baby is the size of a peach and Bob had me pose with a peach we picked up from the farmers market yesterday...this is kind of a small peach but you get the idea! After we took a 3 hour nap after church, I actually had a little energy and cleaned out the fridge and the pantry, cooked dinner and cleaned the kitchen and even did some laundry! Yay! Hoping that last because I have a ton to do around this house in the next couple of weeks!

Then there is week 12, which I did not have an official picture but this was our Facebook post picture and it was at week 12. I posted "What happens in Mexico doesn't always stay in Mexico"... I thought it was super cute idea! Baby was officially the size of a plum at this point!

Week 11, again looking a lot like Week 13 I think! Ha! Baby was the size of a lime and I thought it was only appropriate to draw a margarita since I cannot have one for another 6 months or more! I have heard lime slushes are very similar so I may have to check one out soon! :)

I started the photo journey at week 10 where baby was the size of a prune!

I am hoping the next trimester goes as well as this one! No morning sickness, no over moodiness, no food aversion or cravings for that matter...just hanging out with the pea pod! We go back to the doctor on August 1st to peek at the pea pod to make sure it has all of its arms and legs and stuff and we may be able to sneak a peek to see what it might be! :) Also bought my first pair of maternity pants this week...while the dress pants are still fitting fine, the jeans are a little snug and I felt like the button might pop off so I thought it was about time! Overall doing well, cannot wait to share our next picture of the little one!

Baby's first picture!

We had our first ultrasound today with the doctor to see when we were really expecting our little pea pod to arrive. It was a very fast and simple visit but we were so glad to see our little one was doing good so far! Bob was amused at the little pedals next to the ultrasound table that had up, down, left, right on them and he was dying to push them! Don't worry, I didn't let him! LOL! When the doctor arrived she got right down to business, had no problem finding our little one and we got to hear the heart beat which was beating at a great pace of 150! Seems that we are not as far along as expected and the new due date is January 20th which means I am only about 7 1/2 weeks now... so long until January! But at least it won't be too close to Christmas and Bob was just relieved it wasn't twins! So, now for the drum roll....

Isn't it cute! ha! I had to explain it to Bob after the doctor left the room because apparently he wasn't paying attention! The little white bump in the right corner is our pea pod! It was so neat that even though we couldn't really see anything, you could see the heart beating out of it's chest! We loved it! So glad everything is going so well! Baby's first picture now has it's official spot on the fridge!

Chris Castleberry Golf Classic!

We had such a fun weekend this past weekend reuniting with some old friends! We headed to Arkadelphia for the 2nd annual Chris Castleberry Golf Classic in memory of our friend and Bob's fraternity brother! I was not real sure if I wanted to go but I am glad I did! I also went to high school with Chris so I got to catch up with some people I have not seen in years! I definitely got to hang with the best group of the bunch! They may not have won but they had a great time! There were a total of 20 teams and did I mention there was free beer?!

All lined up!

The gang! Bob, Jeff, Rob, and Corey

The guys posing with Brooke in front of her sponsor sign!
The were supposed to be looking like they were riding! lol
Cheering squad!
Jeff doing Happy Gilmore...
Posing in front of the Phi Lamb little sis sign!
In the end, Bob and Jeff scored a 92 and Rob and Corey for an 86. The winners got a 61! And the losing team got a 94... two points away and we could have got a prize for the worst score! Ha! It was a great time getting to see everyone and remembering Chris!

What to Expect...

Bob and I have been married for a whole year on Monday! He says it seems like much longer... but overall it has been the best year of our life and I cannot wait to spend so many more together! We recently found out that we are about to start a new adventure...
Since we have tied the not or probably before then, we have wanted nothing more than to start our own little family and last week our wish came true!
After the wedding last Saturday, we stopped by WalMart to pick up a few things and Bob shows back up at the car with a pregnancy test as I was a few days late. He said I needed to take it the next morning to make mom's mothers day the best one ever!
So I did as I was told even though I thought he was crazy! For some reason, me and Bob and mom were all in the bathroom and you know you have to wait 3 minutes... so mom started the timer and then I realized that Bob bought a fancy one that had its own timer! It probably didn't take 1 minute until it popped up...

I was so excited that I couldn't breathe! I just kept screaming oh, oh, oh, oh! lol! And for some reason neither of them knew what that meant until I showed them! And then dad came running in their because he thought that with all of the screaming someone must have had a heart attack! Ha!
There was no heart attack luckily! I should be about 6 1/2 weeks about now and go for my first doctors visit on Tuesday! We are hoping things work out perfectly this time!

April Showers bring May Weddings!

Such a fun weekend last weekend! My cousin Jamey got married and Little Rock and  I got to see some of our family that I haven't seen in ages! We have Aunts that live all the way in Florida so we very rarely get to see them and the others live in central Arkansas and we still rarely see them!
It was at Maumelle Park and was very pretty! It was supposed to rain all day but luckily the rain cleared out just in time for the wedding!

The groom and his men!

The grooms parents aka: Uncle Eric and Aunt Phyllis
cutting of the cake!
Mr. and Mrs. Jamey Jacobsen
Aunt Sue and me posing with the groom!
The Jacobsen clan!
The getaway car! So cute!
It said "Just Mary'd" on the back as the brides name is Mary!
Hanging at Grumpy's afterward!
Posing it up as usual!
We had a super fun time and it was so nice seeing everyone! We really should get together more often!

Hola Mexico!

Our first official vacation as a married couple was a success! We loaded up and headed to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a week full of fun! We had to leave our poor little Gracie behind and she was super sad but we left her in good hands and I think she had fun!
We have never done the all inclusive thing before and have to say we really didn't know what to expect! The airport in Mexico was different and I think that if we were not traveling with experienced Mexico travelers we would have never made it to the resort! When you get off the plane, it is swarming with all kinds of people wanting to sell you all kinds of packages and excursions during your stay! We made it to the taxi and we were off!

Our Ride In!
The city was crazy, glad we didn't have to drive!
We were definitely taken by surprise as we were greeted at the taxi and the people took our bags and we were handed glasses of champagne and cold wet towels to break up the humidity and then escorted to the concierge!

We have arrived!
Ready to get the party started!
Just being in the lobby checking in was breathtaking and the room was not shabby either!

Concierge Lobby!
Our Concierge, Salvador!
Our cool door! Bob's favorite part, you just had to hold the door key up to the door and it just unlocked!

The view from our balcony!
The adult only pool and hot tub!
Beautiful views!
We started off the week with a bang and probably had a little too much excitement with the tequila shots...most of us were passed out by 6pm and the rest of them got cut off at the bar before sundown! We got cut off...at a bar... at an all inclusive resort.... really? lol
Tequila!
Margarita time!
Bob was so sweet that he planned a romantic dinner for two on the beach for my birthday! Quite possibly the best meal I had ever had... the food was not overly exciting but the atmosphere was out of this world! We had interesting food that I had never had before and Bob picked the meal because he said I would love it! As our appetizer, we had foie gras, Bob said I had to try it and he could not believe I had never had it! When we got to dinner, it was served, and it was so pretty! Again, Bob was in disbelief that I had never had it so I asked what it was.... overstuffed goose liver... what?! It is like a pate type thing that was sliced and you put it on little toast slices and then put this apple chutney stuff on top...best stuff ever!

Steak and lobster for me!
Lamb chops for Bob!
Cheesecake for dessert!
And it was at sunset!
So romantic!
We made the trip with some of our friends, we were lucky that they invited us on their special trip! It was Aaron and Lindsey's third time to the resort so they obviously are big fans! And they were celebrating their 2nd anniversary, and that just happen to fall on my 31st birthday and Aaron's parents, Ronnie and Vanessa's 24th wedding anniversary! Needless to say, we partied non stop!
Aaron and Lindsey's anniversary!
Ronnie and Vanessa's anniversary!
My special dessert at dinner! Josh wrote my name on a piece of paper and they apparently couldn't read it so I was  Kim Blooks!
Birthday dinner!
They left all these goodies in our room for my birthday!

There were so many things to do there that we never had to leave the resort!
Catching rays!
Caribbean night!
Rock and Roll Concert!
Fireworks!
Lots of beach vendors for shopping!

Pina colada sippin'!
Sea turtle release!

Fire show!
Parasailing!
Baggo!
Yes, we did go parasailing! We were a little bummed that we could not go together because I think we were both a little nervous but after watching them do it all week, we decided to go! It is much different the way they do it, you actually take off from the beach and land on the beach! It was so much fun and we were so high in the air! Lindsey said she saw a huge sea turtle and another guy said he saw a sting ray... we saw nothing but a bunch of gorgeous houses and views! I was looking for sharks though but saw none!
Lindsey!
Me!
Bob!
Vanessa!
The beach we were on was completely private in that it had mountains on both sides and the only people that were allowed on it were the people staying there! It was awesome! Got some great scene pics!

This house next to the resort was awesome!
Tiki huts!

There were these exciting mountain rock things that you could see out in the middle of the ocean...they were so cool!

Not sure if you can see the crabs but they were all over these rocks!

There were really great restaurants at the resort but I have to say our favorite one was the last night we were there... it was an Italian restaurant and it was so nice! We had to wait a really long time to get seated and Ronnie went to check on when we were going to sit and apparently made a scene so we got to sit in the private wine cellar...it was awesome!
Saying goodbye!

Our fancy dining room the last night!
Tequila shots of course!
This place had mirrored ceilings!
Group shot!
In the end, it was a great vacation! I could go on for pages and pages of pictures but you get the idea! Cannot wait to go back...planning on 2015?! You should come too!
