4 months old!

Way behind on this one but this boy is growing so fast I'm just soaking it in!! At 14 lb 10oz and 25.5 inches long, he is growing like a weed. Still in 3 mo clothes but moving up to 6 month pjs because his feet are pushing the bottoms out and size 2 diapers. He has started rolling a couple times back to belly but hasn't quite figured out the other direction. He is giggling and cooing. He is sleeping through he might for the most part and seldom naps during the day. He is just the sweetest thing.

He loves his sister!

Trying to figure out this rolling thing.

He loves bath time too!

Tummy time is the best time!

He found his feet and hasn't let them go. They are the most fun!

He learned about the mobile from his sister!

He learned about long car rides!

He got to swim for the first time and loved it! He would just kick his feet all over.

And he got to see the ocean and find out how awesome it is to be a beach bum.

4 months old... Not too shabby!

School Days!!

The day has come! We have had a long, semi-fun summer. We stayed inside a lot because it was so dang hot and the baby was not a fan of the heat. So it is finally the day we have both been looking forward to all summer, the first day of school!! We were definitely in need of a mommy-Dylan break! I hadn't told her she would have a new teacher but luckily her old teachers aide moved up to be lead teacher this year! So she had a familiar face and a few kiddos from last years class too. Orientation was last night and she instantly jumped in and started playing. Of course she had no desire to talk to her friends that she had talked about all summer long. Maybe she didn't want mommy to feel bad...
So I stayed up til 11pm last night getting everything ready: dress, lunch box, change of clothes, teachers gifts, paperwork, etc.

Yes I was one of "those moms" with the fancy teacher gift! Ha. Not usually my thing but I feel like a lot of moms in our class are "those moms" so I didn't want to be a slacker. Plus, this was so easy, found it on Pinterest with a free printable so all I had to do was print, cut and tie on!
So after my exciting night, the baby was up at 4am and I nicely tucked him into bed with me as my alarm was to be going off in an hour and when the alarm buzzed he was still fussing and wanting to eat. We finally got up and got to stirring and I noticed he had ever so nicely puked all over himself... Like shirt, arms, legs, between his legs... Ugh!! So once I got him cleaned up and I got a shower, Dylan was up and ready to go. She asked where the sun was?!? Um, it's really freaking early kid!
So we got her up and dressed and ready, she refused breakfast (of course), and was just ready! She loved taking pictures, which is odd for her, and said she looked like a princess in her dress!

Drop off went super easy and I got a big hug and kiss bye! She washed her hands and went straight to playing! Bring it on Pre K3! Excited for our year with Ms. Katie and Ms. Susie!

3 months old!

This baby is growing like a weed! 13lbs 4oz at 3 months old. Almost doubling his birthweight! He loves to eat! He is in size 2 diapers basically skipping the size 1 all together. I think he was in them maybe 3 weeks. We didn't even finish a box! He's in 3 month clothes too! He is such a sweet boy and sleeping 6-8 hours a night most nights which is awesome. Oddly enough the longer he sleeps, the more tired I am! He is smiling and loves his little chair where he can sit up and look around. He is trying to roll over but he feels like it's too much trouble so he would just rather scream at me and I just do it for him.

Loves his sister!

We still haven't decided who he looks like but he's definitely a cutie!! He's growing so fast!

2 Months Old

Time slow down! This kid is almost 3 months old and I'm just now posting his 2 month stuff!! He's growing so fast. He was so tiny in the beginning and I guess he got tired of me complaining about it so he wants to eat non stop and beef up fast! He weighed in at 10 lbs 14oz. Still running small in the 25% but trying so hard! He is doing fantastic. Trying to roll over, holding his head up like a champ, moving his arms and legs more, starting to be a little more cool instead of just laying around. He loves being strapped to momma and he thinks his big sister is fantastic! He is sleeping 4-6 hours usually which is nice. He loves going out of the house and seeing new things. Not a huge fan of tummy time but we are working on it. Here are a few pictures of the big guy!

One Month Old!

Can't believe a month has gone by already! Little Drew is finally gaining weight and getting big. He was off to a slow start but is up to 8lb 1oz and 20.5 inches. Already starting to be too long for his newborn pjs! He's doing great with holding his head up and loves mommy snuggles. He has even slept well at night a couple of times. We are trying to get a great schedule going but it is definitely hard! He loves for me to carry him in his sling. It's his most favorite place on earth! And love car rides which is a big change from his sister. But don't stop the car. That part, he hates! He is still sweet as ever and I'm trying to savor every last minute!

Sister love

Lots of doctor visits

Some great grandma time!

Welcome Drew!!

Only 3 weeks late but what an interesting 3 weeks it has been!!
Andrew James Brooks was born on May 6, 2016 @ 7:59 am and weighed 7lb 8oz at 20 inches long!! It was instantly obvious that he was much quieter than his sister.

Since he was only 39 weeks he was covered in that fancy stuff... We weren't overly excited about that part... They don't even wash it off before they hand him to you. They have changed the policy to where mom actually gets to hold baby right after they do his initial check.

Once we got him checked out and everyone got back to the room, we were shocked at how quiet he was. He instantly caught on to breastfeeding and was eating and pooping like a champ.

He had lots of visitors in his first few hours and loved that he got to meet his big sister! She was instantly in love with him and protective. She didn't know why anyone else was holding "mommy's baby". She says he is mommy's baby that she got at the hospital.

So in love with our little perfect family!
