Welcome Home!

So Baby D is almost a month old and I have yet to update this thing!! We have been very busy these last few weeks and she is asleep for the minute so I thought maybe I could see how far I could get!
So, last post was on how we were headed to the hospital... I was admitted to the hospital at midnight January 25th, they got me all cozy in my room and had me change clothes, they were super confused that I brought my own birthing gown but a girl needs to look cute! They checked my cervix and of course I was not dilated at all! They put an IV in and started me on cytotec which was supposed to help me dilate... I was on this for a few hours while trying to get some sleep and the nurse came in and told me to lay on my side for a while. Then another 30 minutes or so went by when two nurse came in and told me to lay on my other side and they started me on full oxygen, all of course without telling me what was going on! They finally told me that the baby was decelerating and was not tolerating the meds. They called the on call doctor who said to stop the meds and wait. I was then only dilated to a finger tip after about 4 hours. My doctor then called and ordered to start me on Pitocin which was to start contractions but she was unsure what it would do if anything since I still was not dilated really. After a few hours of that, the same thing started happening where she was not tolerating the contractions at all. The doctor came back in about 11am and I was still only dilated the a finger tip. She said the only option we had at that point was to do a c-section and that my baby would be here soon. It was all kinda scary to think about but overall went very well! After giving me some fluids they took me to surgery where they put my spinal in. The anesthesiologist was super nice and took lots of pictures for us!

It was all a really weird experience in the fact that from the chest down I was numb but yet I could feel every thing they touched!! It seems like it was only a few minutes until they pushed my beautiful angel out and she started crying! I was a little jealous that Bob was the first one to hold her but he took lots of pictures and let me have his phone to look at all of them while they sewed me up and carted me to recovery!

Dylan Mackenzie Brooks was born on January 25th at 12:50pm and weighed in at 8lb 2oz and was 20 inches long. She was the cutest baby I have ever seen with a head full of hair!

Our perfect family!!
We had to stay in the hospital a few days so I could recover from surgery and we were so ready to go! Rest is not possible when a nurse is coming in your room every hour to check mine or babies vital signs!

Checking out!
Car ride home!
We had a fun welcoming committee when we arrived home from big sister Gracie! I had a cute video but it would not let me load it....

Dylan got to see her room and loved it of course!

We are getting settled in and having a great time trying to figure each other out!
This only took me a week and a half to complete so hoping I can update again soon!

The time has come....

Well it is finally time! We have decided Dylan is not going to come on her own so we are making her come out! We are being admitted to the hospital tonight at midnight and starting to induce labor in the morning....Yikes! I haven't really decided if I am scared or excited or what... I am not sure that it has actually sunk in yet. It seems like just yesterday that she was our little pea pod and now she is a full grown baby! I can't wait to see what she looks like and all the exciting things she will bring to our life. I can't believe that we have to actually be responsible for another person, to actually teach her things and hope that she grows to be an amazing young woman. That seems like a lot to put on two people!
We celebrated our last night as non parents last night by going out to Olive Garden and eating way too much! And tonight we are blessed to be surrounded by our family in preparation to go to the hospital and get settled in! I thought I would do a picture recap to see how far we have come!

My how skinny I was!! Ha! From a prune to a pumpkin....
Can't wait to add the next pictures which will include Dylan!
So, I may get bored tonight into tomorrow and decide to blog more...watch out!!

Getting ready!

It is definitely getting close! I think we actually have everything ready but I am sure once she is here I will find something I forgot! Daddy finally got his TDaP vaccine today so she will be protected from the bad bugs...now we just have to worry about the flu!!! I finally finished my last day of work yesterday and of course feeling under the weather today! Dr. appointment this week puts us having our sweet baby girl next week if she doesn't decide to visit us before then! She still is not making much progress but has dropped some. She is apparently very content in there or maybe she is just stubborn! Going back on Tuesday if she hasn't made her grand entrance and we get to pick her birthday!

Fun stuff we have done for preparation....

Bags are packed! Here is her cute outfit she will be wearing home!

And of course big sister is ready (I think).... she doesn't look to excited in this picture but I think it is because her shirt is too small!!

And of course her room is ready and waiting for her!

And daddy bought me this super cute mothers ring so I am definitely ready for her!

We also have had a little bit of snow so I am hoping it has got it all out of its system before it's time to bring her home!

Exciting stuff going on around the Brooks house, cannot wait to see Dylan's sweet face!

Bumpdate!

Of course it has been forever since I have updated this thing. Who knows what I have been doing?? This baby has gotten SO big!! Here are a few picture updates!

Made it to 39 weeks! I definitely feel like I am carrying around a watermelon!! Feels like I have doubled in size in the last month!

My Christmas picture! This is actually 36 weeks not 35.

Now that I am looking at it, it looks like I have doubled in size in the past month!

Picture TIme!!

We had a fun filled day of pictures today!! We had scheduled our 4D ultrasound to see Dylan up close and personal and also our maternity pics! The ultrasound was fun, it is amazing how close up you can get to her and see everything that is happening! Apparently we waited a little too long, they like for you to do it before 32 weeks, so she was a little cramped in there and did not have much room for wiggle! We had a talk this morning that she would be awake and she would smile and not have her hands in front of her face during the pictures as she has had in past ones! Well I ate a little breakfast before I went and drank plenty of water thinking that would help and sure enough...hand in her face! It was like she was sucking on her hand the whole time we were looking at her! And her cord was in front of her face so it kinda makes her look a little squished in there! So this is what we got....

this one is my favorite...you can actually see all of her features and her hand is not in her mouth!
This one, she is super pissed off because she is tired of all the shaking and pictures!
She looks like she has a pointed chin here but they do this cool thing where they crop out stuff and I think we got a little too much!
Sucking on her hand (of course)
this one she looks like she is propping herself up!
She kinda looks like a gopher here with those cheeks puffed out!
I think they were overall okay, we got a DVD, flash drive, prints of the pictures and a little heart with her heart beat recorded in it! It is so sweet!
After that we went to downtown Rogers to do our maternity pics...cannot wait until she gets them ready....I think they are going to turn out great!

Bumping along...

We made it through another month...the reflux is killing me!! The nursery is almost finished and we are definitely ready for Dylan to be here! Only 7 more weeks....

32 weeks...no I have no clue what jicama is...
31 weeks, 4 oranges...we compared this one to one a few weeks ago with the same shirt...wow!
30 weeks...cabbage!
Things are going okay...pretty sure this is the worse trimester for me! On top of the reflux, I have a terrible cough that goes on all night long (Bob loves it), I also keep getting a rash which I discovered today may be caused by nuts?? I only think that because I ate a handful of nuts and went to the store and by the time I got there I was covered in hives! Super weird! Also with all the coughing, I have pulled a muscle in the belly making it very painful to move...I cannot wait for her to get here already! I finally got discharged from physical therapy! Next doc appointment on Tuesday and thinking I may start going weekly after the next one but not sure! So close!

DCNA Christmas party

So I decided to drag Bob to the work Christmas party this year. The party was to be from 6-9:30pm on Saturday and of course being the punctual people that we are, we got there about 5 minutes early and were the only people there besides two of the people that were actually putting it together. Everyone said that they all get there fashionably late...I didn't know fashionably late was an hour! At least there was an open bar for Bob and food for me! It was okay, I think, all of the drunk people sat at our table and ran off the other people sitting at our table initially... Just a few pics...

This is before we left, I had to show off!!
Cutest couple at the party!
Lisa with her date.
Jackie, Jim and Bonnie
These are all the pics I took, basically just the people at our table...not much worth taking a picture of!
