But for those of you that know my little tiny baby, you know that her lifelong goal is to know where mama is every second of the day. Want to drop her off at the church nursery for an hour so you can actually listen to the service? Don't be crazy! Want her to have a fun time with her friends in moms group for two hours while you are in the other room? I don't think so! So while it would be nice to keep her my tiny baby she has to learn that sometimes mama has to leave and will soon come back.
We got her all excited about it. She got a new lunch box and new books about school. She got a cute outfit and we talked about all the fun she would have while there. It was going to be the best day ever!! I got her out of bed at 7am which is way early for my night owl. It was still dark and I told her she had to get up to go to school. She very sleepily rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom and was soon a talkative mess about school. We got her all dressed and ready!
She actually looked at the camera, smiled, and posed! Which is so not like her these days.
She was so excited. She picked out her own shoes because the ones I had picked out just didn't float her boat and she couldn't wait to get in the car to go!
We pulled up, she put her coat on, made sure she had her back pack and jumped out of the car. Then the playground... Oh that playground... We have to pass it to go through the doors. And she had a complete freak out! Because what does any kid want to do at 8am? Slide, of course!! I finally got her calmed down and explained to her we could only access the playground from inside the building (sounded like a legit thing). So we went in and she instantly started crying saying "I just wanna go home and see daddy"... The saddest thing ever! I got her to calm down and left as I heard her freaking out all the way to the door.
But... She made it! They said they would call me if she was too upset and they never called. I was there promptly 5 minutes early to pick her up and there she sat with her new friends and her lunch. She couldn't wait to get her stuff and hit the door. She said she wanted to come back on Thursday so we will see...
